Stem Cell Stocks 5/17/09: The Week That Was

If you remember back to when the market was in its tailspin, one of the only plays that seemed to work were the stem cell stocks. With the overall market currently in a bit of a slide, it was interesting to see if the sector would again be a strong performer. However, nothing much has changed. The only upward movement has come from those individual stocks with news or out of the blue trading momentum.

- International Stem Cell Corp (ISCO.OB) = Up 98% for the week; This stock acted very unusual last week. At one point the stock nearly tripled. Shares spiked on 8 times the average volume on four consecutive trading days. Friday it finally pulled back. All this movement occurred with no news. It looks like a huge short opportunity if you're into that.
