Stem Cell Stocks 4/11/09: The Week That Was

The stem cell stocks were a mixed bag this week. They still seem to be in search of that key news to put the sector back in the spotlight. Overall, the stock market was flat during the week and the stem cell stocks seemed to follow suit. However, I have noticed over the past few weeks that those stem cell stocks that have reported quarterly earnings have responded positively (albeit temporarily).

- Cyro-Cell International (CCEL.OB) = Up 37% for the week; On 4/9/09 CCEL reported Qtr.1 2009 results; The most notable news was that the company stated that prospective clients were up 94% compared to the same period a year ago.

- Stem Cell Therapy International Inc. (SCII.OB) = Down; -20% for the week; Last week this was the sector's top gainer; It looks like this is just classic profit taking
